University of Wrocław invites applications for the position of assistant in the Taube Department of Jewish Studies at the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures

Applications are invited from the candidates fulfilling the statutory requirements specified in the Higher Education Act dated 20th July 2018 (O.J. 2018, section 1668) and the Statute of the University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
- Hold a master's degree in philology, the humanities or related fields.
- Documented knowledge of Yiddish and Hebrew.
- Achievements of both scholarly publications and research project as listed on the publications projects’ list (completed and planned) in Yiddish studies, teaching Yiddish as a foreign language; Jewish studies.
- Experience in teaching and in organization of international conferences at the university level.
- The Jury will also take into account the following additional criteria related to the profile of teaching and research as conducted in the Taube Department of Jewish Studies: experience in planning and conducting courses in Jewish language; sharing knowledge with non-academic audiences.
Responsibilities
In the teaching area:
- Conducting research in the field of Jewish studies with a particular focus on Yiddish literature and culture.
- Participation in the national and international academic Jewish Studies community by presenting at conferences and workshops, publications, etc.
- Active participation in applying for research grants.
- Teaching Yiddish language, literature and cultures courses in the Taube Department of Jewish Studies at the University of Wroclaw, as well as other classes corresponding to the candidate’s education and skills.
- Participation in the administrative work of the Taube Department of Jewish Studies and the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.
