Research Funding opportunities

The state stimulates science and innovation activities, provides technological and financial support by creating a favourable climate for the absorption of innovations under the Code of the Republic of Moldova on Science and Innovation no. 259 of 15.07.2004.

Therefore, the state supports the broadening of cooperation with the foreign partners in the field of science and innovation, creates conditions for integration into the international scientific and technological community in accordance with the legislation in force. Moreover, the support provided by the state in the field of science and innovation is carried out pursuant to the international treaties to which Moldova is party of.

The state, represented by the public authorities, guarantees the functioning and development of science and innovation by an upward and stable financing of science and innovation as well as by fostering the creation of a modern infrastructure, promoting favourable financial, taxes and customs policies in the relevant field, establishing a partnership between science, education, production and financial areas.

The legislative and normative acts regulating the legal relations related to the development and implementation of the state policy in the field of science and innovation, scientific research, innovation and technological transfer activities as well as issues linked to the research funding are as follows:

  • Code on Science and Innovation of the Republic of Moldova passed through Law 259 Legislature XV from the 15th of July 2004
  • Partnership Agreement between the Government and the Academy of Sciences for 2009-2012, approved by Government Decision No. 27 from the 22nd of January 2009
  • Strategy for the development of research and innovation 2020

Calls for proposals closed in 2013

  • Call for proposals on innovation and technological transfer for 2013
    The Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova launches the call for proposals on innovation and technological transfer projects for 2013 with financing from the state budget of up to 50% of the total project budget.
    The main objective of the programme is to develop an economy based on innovation and technological transfer, by encouraging and developing innovative SMEs.
  • Call for proposals under the Programme RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT JOINT INITIATIVES
    STCU & ASM launches the open call for proposals under the Programme Research and Development Joint Initiative.
    This programme aims at the sustainable development of scientific and technical resources of the Republic of Moldova, the expansion of international cooperation and amplifying the role of science and innovation in the whole society.

 

Calls for proposals closed in 2012

  • The joint pilot competition of regional projects SEERA-EI.
  • The research and capacity building in Scientific Cloud Computing.
  • Call reopened

The Academy of Sciences of Moldova announces again the joint pilot competition of the regional projects SEERA-EI in the field of research and capacity building in Scientific Cloud Computing.

The program addresses the accredited organizations in science and innovation.

 

The Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission aims at building an open, effective, and democratic pan-European knowledge-based society. This will involve effectively communicating scientific and technological advances, and associated research policies, to the general public.

Participation to FP7 is opened to a wide range of organizations and individuals - universities, research centres, multinational corporations, SME's, governmental bodies and individuals.

The priorities of 'Horizon 2020' presented in the draft Decision of the Council of Europe through the implementation of the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 (2014-2020) are as follows:
